Alicia Keys\' MTV Unplugged is set to drop Oct. 11 on both CD and DVD. A limited-edition CD/DVD package also will be available. Albany, Georgia Hip-Hop duo Field Mob has inked a deal with Ludacris\' Disturbing Tha Peace label to release their third album Light Poles and Pine Trees. The release of the unofficial single in \"Georgia\" features Ludacris and a sampled hook from Ray Charles' "Georgia on My Mind," which is also the official song of the state of Georgia. The first official single will be \"Friday Night,\" which also features Ludacris. The album will feature collaborations with Ludacris, Ciara, Bone Crusher, Bobby Valentino, and others. Ex Destinys Child member Latoya Luckett is releasing her self-titled album on Capitol in February. A federal jury convicted rapper Tab "Turk" Virgil of three felony charges yesterday (August 9). Virgil was convicted of being a felon with a handgun, a fugitive with a handgun and a drug addict with a handgun. The charges stem from a shootout during a January 2004 drug raid of an apartment. SWAT team member Deputy Chris Harris was shot in the jaw, hip arm and calf. Six officers present testified that they never saw Virgil with a gun in his hand and none of them saw him in the closet either. Attorneys made their final arguments yesterday morning and the jury took just five hours to convict the chart-topping rapper, who made his mark as a member of Cash Money Records' hit group, The Hot Boys. Dealers at the event are not allowed to have unscheduled autograph appearances Jury selection started yesterday (August 1) in the weapons trial of Tab "Turk" Virgil, who is currently incarcerated on attempted first-degree murder charges and weapons violations. The charges stem from a January 26, 2004 shootout with Memphis, Tennessee SWAT team members. Prosecutors say that Virgil injured officers as they raided an apartment seeking a cache of heroin and weapons. Virgil is charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, a fugitive in possession of a handgun and being a drug addict in possession of a handgun. The rapper also faces first degree murder charges in state court. Virgil is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond in Shelby County Jail. Gerald Levert has pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts stemming from a confrontation with police during a traffic stop five months ago. The R&B singer apologized in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday and admitted to charges of assault and attempted obstruction of official business. He was fined $2,000 and put on probation for one year. Police said Levert, 39, and a passenger in his car, James Austin Jr., intervened when authorities stopped a friend of Levert\'s for speeding at 12:45 a.m. Feb. 25. Ray J founded Knock Out Entertainment earlier this year and recently signed his older sister, Brandy to the imprint. Earlier this year, Brandy left Atlantic Records after 11 years with the label. Brandy plans to team up with long time collaborator Rodney Jerkins to record her next CD. Group member Billy Danze confirmed with AllHipHop.com that the group is now officially signed with 50\'s label. The group was originally signed to Roc-A-Fella, but when the label was broken up and sold off to the Island Def Jam Music Group in December of 2004, the group was caught in the crossfire. M.O.P. ended up on Dame Dash\'s Dame Dash Music Group, but in May of 2005, group manager Laze E. Laze told AllHipHop.com that M.O.P. planned on a clean break from all parties. Danze explained that the new situation with G-Unit has afforded them lots of new opportunities and he\'s looking forward to creating some new, dope music, which should come out in early 2006.
