And the "National Enquirer" claims he wanted his bride-to-be to sign a PRENUPTIAL AGREEMENT that gave her very little of his fortune in the event of a divorce. Fox executives aren't saying their decision has anything to do with the feud, though. Their official word is that there's just no room on the schedule for it. But "Us Weekly" found some so-called "sources" who are saying what we all know: The show was scrapped due to Paris and Nicole's BEEF. The magazine also claims that Nicole's ALARMING WEIGHT LOSS was a factor. However. . . 20th Century Fox Television. . . the studio that produces the show. . . is already shopping it to another network. And they hope to be able to announce a new partner within DAYS. SPIKE LEE will produce and direct an HBO documentary about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. The working title of the show is "When the Levee Broke". . . but that's about all HBO will say about it at this time. Known for his charitable work and philanthropic contributions, rapper Nelly has received his own star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame. The Star is given to St. Louis natives whose accomplishments have had a national impact on the cultural heritage of St. Louis. The honor is a first for the Grammy-award winning rapper and the St. Louis, Missouri native will be the youngest inductee for the St. Louis Walk of Fame. USHER just got a gig in a new movie, in which he'll play the younger version of a character also played by MORGAN FREEMAN. Roughly two months after checking himself into Detroit's Brighton Hospital for an addiction to sleep medication, Eminem has been released and is ready to hit the studio. Sources say Slim Shady spent three weeks in the rehabilitation center and spent an additional three weeks in the hospital's outpatient program, completing his treatment in late September. Em opted to go the rehab after six weeks on the Anger Management 3 tour. As The Inc.'s October 24 trial date approaches for money laundering, more details are coming out about Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff and his planned defense. According to recently released documents, McGriff told The Inc.'s Christopher "Gotti" Lorenzo that he would seek the assistance of Sean "Diddy" Combs and Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter to help fund his defense against racketeering, narcotics and murder charges. The Federal Bureau of Prisons caught McGriff's conversation with Lorenzo on an Apr. 29 call from a Brooklyn, New York Federal prison stating that he planned to send letters to both moguls, which would be delivered by his defense team. Lorenzo agreed this would be a good strategy since Combs and Carter both allegedly asked about McGriff's well being. In other transcripts, Supreme and Gotti discuss Nelly and his relationship with Ashanti, confirming rumors that the two entertainers were romantically involved. After analyzing Nelly's album sales and giving him props, McGriff and Gotti spoke on rumors that Irv and Nelly were feuding over Ashanti. "Irv and Nelly ain't even an enemy. When JAMIE FOXX originally bagged on the movie version of the Broadway musical, "Dreamgirls", it was because the producers wouldn't meet his salary demands. In response to a motion by the Gotti brothers' lawyer to declare the search of Irv's offices unconstitutional, the Federal government filed a 50-page memorandum in opposition to suppress the evidence. Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Beanie Sigel's step-father, according to published reports. Kevin Green, 22, was charged Monday (Oct. 10) with shooting Sigel's stepfather, Samuel Derry, Jr., then setting him on fire, police said. Derry's body was discovered last Tuesday (Oct. 4) in Cedarbrook, Philadelphia. Green is currently incarcerated in Montgomery County on an unrelated charge. Today is a day of vindication for WESLEY SNIPES. DNA tests earlier this month have shown that he DID NOT FATHER A CRACK BABY!!! It was another man's essence that led to the creation of the 4-year-old boy that a former CRACK WHORE had been claiming was Wesley's. Snipes has been denying all along that he fathered a child with 33-year-old Indiana drug addict Lanise Pettis. R Kelly is planning to release chapters 1-12 of his Trapped In The Closet on DVD on November 1st. The DVD will feature never before seen footage. A Miami judge recently issued a 26-page opinion stating that Slip-N-Slide Records has the right to release an album that rapper Pitbull recorded prior to signing with the New York based, TVT Records. The judge ruled that Slip-N-Slide has the right to issue the album Welcome to the 305, as long as it has a label affixed to the cover, stating that the release contains previously recorded material. Pitbull recorded the contested songs in 2001 for Slip-N-Slide prior to signing with TVT Records. On Tuesday morning, Philadelphia police found a dead body in an alley; the man had been shot to death, and then SET ON FIRE. In a recent turn of events, Philadelphia police are now investigating the abduction of an Oak Lane man from his residence early yesterday morning that may be connected to the murder of rap star Beanie Sigel's stepfather. About 5:40 a.m. this morning, officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a person with a weapon. Upon arriving on the scene, they found a witness who described how wallace Moody was intercepted by two dark-colored vehicles and accosted at gunpoint by three African American men wearing gray hooded sweatshirtsthat as he headed to his vehicle. Police said the man was forced into the vehicle, which disappeared after speeding off. Moody was said to have known Samuel Derry, the slain stepfather-of Beanie Sigel. DMX promoter of the year?? His lawyers told Judge George Villegas that the rapper was suffering from food poisoning after returning home from a European trip. The rapper was already on probation from with a suspended license from a June 2004 road rage incident at JFK Airport in Queens, New York. Judge Villegas told the rapper yesterday that if he pleaded guilty to the charges, he would be sentenced with the minimum which is a weekend in jail and a $1,000 fine. 'cause he wasn't just bitching about The Man holding him down again; "Here We Go Again" is ALSO the title of his new album!!! Young Buck's court date in relation to last year's Vibe Awards stabbing has been pushed back for the fourth time and is now slated for October 25th. Buck, aka David Darnell Brown, was initially scheduled to appear in court in March before the hearing got pushed back to April 18th; then later delayed until May. THE ROOTS get on! 10/04/2005 Hip-Hop fashion company Miskeen Originals has cancelled its production of Young Jeezy's iconic Snowman t-shirts after finding out the logo's meaning. Miskeen owner Yaniv Zaken decided to halt production on the trendy tees when he found out that "Da Snowman" represented the dope man. "I never saw the street react so strongly," Zaken told The Philadelphia Weekly, "and then they told me the snowman is actually the guy delivering 'snow' on the street." Zaken did not want his company to be associated with Da Snowman logo after he connected it with drug dealing. The Roots signing to Def Jam was made it official this past Friday (Sept. 30) when they inked their names to a contract with Jay-Z's Def Jam Left imprint. Def Jam Left is a new venture headed by Jigga, who described it as "an artist-driven label with very low deals so people are not pressured by first-week SoundScan [sales], so we can build artists." Police are investigating the slaying of a man in New Britain, Connecticut and the man's alleged connections to rapper Cuban Link. Investigators believe Luis Bruno was murdered in a drug deal gone bad last week. Officers were called to an apartment in New Britain, Connecticut, in response to a report of gunfire coming from inside the apartment. When police arrived they found Bruno, 35, lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds to the head, neck and face. Police are investigating what connections, if any, Bruno had to an associate of Cuban Link. Cuban Link's manager Evaristo Pabon Jr. stated that the man worked as a security guard for the rapper last month at a concert in Springfield. Reggae sensation Buju Banton will go on trial Oct. 19 for his alleged role in an attack against a group of gay men in Jamaica's capital last year, a judge said Friday. Banton, 31, and Horace Hill have both pleaded not guilty to charges of beating six gay men in June, 2004 at a home in the Red Hills Road section of Kingston. A spokesperson for local gay rights group, J-Flag, said one of the men reported the incident to the police, which resulted in the pair's arrest on Sept. 23. Rapper Lil' Kim is adjusting to life in a federal prison in Philadelphia. She has less than a year to serve for committing perjury. The popular rapper is finding that life in prison is no picnic. She had to have her hair extensions removed, and her hair was left a mess. Hair extensions are not allowed in prison. Kim thought she could just wear her hair short, but when she arrived she learned they had to be removed. She is also not allowed to wear makeup, and with all the plastic surgery she has had, you can imagine what she looks like. Reports have leaked out that prisoners were in shock when they saw how she really looked. The Producers of the upcoming Dreamgirls movie are serious about having Beyonce look her best. They have hired four trainers to keep the bootylicious star looking beautiful. To keep her fabulous shape, she will have a trainer for cardio, another one for aerobics, one will be with her for weight training and one trainer will be in charge of keeping her butt in shape. The Dreamgirls movie is coming out late next year and will also star Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy. There is still no word on who will play the role of "Effie" made famous by Jennifer Holiday on Broadway. Rodney wanted to break it up. . . which he did by threatening to KILL Candace and Carmen. And to give it that special Rodney King touch, he pulled a GUN on them. It was a toy gun. . . but they didn't know that at the time. The police were called and Rodney King was arrested for making criminal threats. If he's convicted, he could get up to eight months in prison. Rapper Jin won a $50,000 purse at the Fight Klub battle in the Bahamas on Saturday (Sept. 1) and effectively reclaimed his throne after suffering a high-profile loss in August at an AllHipHop.com sponsored rap battle. Jin won the money after lyricists Professor Green of the UK, AX of the Bronx and Serius Jones all battled for the $50,000 prize. Paris Hilton has called off her five-month engagement to Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis, according to reports. American magazine Us Weekly claims to have received a statement from the socialite announcing the split. The statement reads, "I'm sad to announce that I've called off my engagement. Over the last couple months I've realized that this is the right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I'll always love him. I hope people will respect my privacy during this emotional time." The pair got engaged earlier this year after a whirlwind romance. So how did O.J. mark the occasion? By signing autographs. . . at a HORROR COMICS CONVENTION. It's not clear how much O.J. was paid, but fans plunked down $95 each to enter the NECRO-COMICON in Northridge, California, near Los Angeles. O.J. was signing stuff with the phrase, "O.J. Simpson '68 Heisman". As for the anniversary, O.J. said, quote, "I don't keep these dates in my head." He said the only date he DOES keep track of is Nicole's birthday, which he helps his kids commemorate every year with a cake. (--Who does the CUTTING???) "American Idol" Season Three winner FANTASIA BARRINO admits in her new book, "Life Is Not A Fairy Tale", that she can barely read or write. In an interview with "20/20", FANTASIA admits that she never bothered to learn to read or write when she was in school because, even then, she knew she could sing. . . and she was counting on singing as her ticket to a future. Fantasia appeared on ABC's "20/20" this past Friday to talk about the book. She said she was so ashamed of her illiteracy that it kept her from ever applying for a job. On "Idol", she had to learn songs by listening to them, not by reading sheet music. And since winning, she admits that she's SIGNED CONTRACTS SHE COULDN'T READ. Fantasia is now working with a tutor, and her goal is to read her 4-year-old daughter a book. Fantasia also revealed that she was RAPED when she was in 9th grade. . . by a boy she'd had a crush on. . . but she ended up BLAMING HERSELF because of the way she was dressed. Last week, BEANIE SIGEL was on trial for attempted murder, and was found not guilty. A couple of days later, he was honored as a HERO. Over the summer, Beanie was in jail in Philadelphia, and he heard about 20-year-old Latoyia Figueroa. . . a pregnant woman who had disappeared. They had a reward for $10,000 but ain't nobody really going to try to do anything for that. I wanted to start something." So Beanie put up a $100,000 reward. Sadly, Latoyia was found dead. . . but a tip led the police to her boyfriend. . . who confessed to murdering her in court. Even though the story had a tragic ending, on Saturday, Beanie was given an award of appreciation by Latoyia's father Melvin Figueroa, Philadelphia Councilman Juan Ramos, and a local radio station. Lil' Kim can't catch a break these days. First, the one-year bid, then her hair was reportedly cut and now her checks are bouncing. According to the Daily News, 18 people who worked on recent Lil' Kim videos were left with bounced checks following an accounting mix-up. Word is the bounced checks were found days after the Queen Bee started serving her one year and a day sentence for perjury and conspiracy. The uncompensated workers were part of a crew that shot three consecutive videos for Kim prior to her surrendering to prison. |
