Facts About Voting
• The deadline to register to vote is 5:00pm, October 6, 2008. New voter registration forms must be turned into the Miami-Dade or Broward County Supervisor of Election Office.
• New voters must provide a valid driver's license or a Florida ID card number, or the last four digits of their social security number at the time of registration. If the information does not match, the registration will be considered incomplete.


• Three Ways to Vote...1.) Early Voting 2.) Absentee Ballot Voting (Vote by mail) 3.) Election Day
• Voters MUST vote at their designated polling place on election day. Visit http://www.browardsoe.org/ in Broward or http://www.miamidade.gov/elections/ in Miami Dade
• Voters will be voting on a paper ballot voting system using the DS200 Optical Scan machine.
• Only the voter is allowed to touch their ballot.
• Voters will not receive a "paper receipt". A voter's ballot is the "paper trail".
• On election day, voters may drop off their absentee ballots at the main office of the Supervisor of Elections. Ballots may not be dropped off at the polling place. Ballots must be received by 7pm on election night. Post marks do not count.
• Voters who are wearing or deploying campaign paraphanelia will not be barred from entering the polling place if they are there to vote. These voters may not campaign, linger, or promote for candidates or issues in the polling place.
