DJ Kool G
Shows & Schedules
Born in Washington, D.C., raised in Brooklyn, NY, and finally, growing into a talented entertainer in Miami, FL, the Notorious DJ Kool G has equipped himself with the kind of diverse musical flavor that he needed to rock the South Florida crowds for the past 14 years. He has taken South Florida by storm in virtually all of the musical venues: from private parties; to main stream club scenes; and currently one of Miami’s hottest radio Disc Jockeys.

In 90’s, Kool G really became a household name in South Florida. He landed spot on South Florida’s number one rated Arbitron radio station, WEDR FM 99 JAMZ. He found himself putting in major work and spinning Monday’s and Tuesday’s at 12:00 pm on the “Ultimate Mid-day Mix,” as well as on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 8:00 pm on the “Thunderstorm,”.

Continuously striving to grow and maintain his title as one of the hottest DJ’s in South Florida, he still rocks the crowds weekly at Miami’s top clubs: Tuesday nights at Oxygen in Coconut Grove; Thursday nights Club Code; and Saturdays nights at Club Kalabash just to name a few. Kool G has been putting tracks down like this since the early 90’s, rocking hip-hop, R&B and reggae flavor in over 50 of Miami’s prestigious clubs. His superb skills also landed him a gig deejaying private parties and events for NBA superstar, Alonzo Mourning, and NFL superstars, Louis Oliver and McKenzie. Kool G is no stranger to television. In 2002 he hosted a Warner Bros/Charter Channel 3, hip-hop show, in which he interviewed American and Latin hip-hop artist such as Don Dinero and Pit-Pull. He also appeared as a guest DJ on Telemundo's (MUN2) hottest Latin urban show, “The Roof.”

In the latter part of 2002, he decided to take his skills and experience to the next level by opening up and becoming part-owner of “Platinum Sound Studios” recording studio. This studio is open to the public, a place where Kool G refines his engineering, mixing, and producing skills to assist the likes of South Florida’s own Slip and Slide records, as well as new and upcoming talent, and major labels.

In 2003, Kool G continued to take it to the next level by his using acquired knowledge and experience in the music industry to becoming the Vice President of his independent record label, “Fire Wire Records.” It is with this project that he plans to keep South Florida on the map by producing fresh young hip-hop talent and creating a successful record label.

Kool G foresees 2004, as a year that will bring his label great success, so that he may give back to his beloved community that supported and made him the Notorious Kool G, a DJ force to be reckoned with. With this pledged support, he will initiate projects such as DJ clinic’s, to keep kids off the streets, as well as promote fundraisers for breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, and autism. In 2004, be on the lookout for the Notorious Kool G. He has plans in the works for a website where his fans can keep track of his progress and perhaps keep the mesmerizing, mixing skills of Kool G fresh in their minds with the release of his mixed tapes/cd.
