Sony Pictures plans to release a musical film composed from 80 hours of rehearsal footage shot in preparation for the 50 London concerts Jackson was preparing when he died June 25.
Named after the title of those concerts, which Jackson had vowed would be his last, the movie This Is It is scheduled for release Oct. 30.
The film will open simultaneously nationwide and around the world on that date, Sony Pictures spokesman Steve Elzer says. It's a quick turnaround for a movie, but Elzer says editors have been at work on the footage since before the deal was struck, and the remaining two months will be plenty of time to complete the project. "We're not rushing it, but we do want to get it out there," he says.
Tickets will go on-sale on September 27th and the movie will only be seen in theaters for two weeks.

MTV remembered the music, life, and career of Michael Jackson the the channel's annual MTV Video Music Awards in Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
The tribute was introduced by Madonna who spoke of her personal friendship with Michael and said "you have to lose someone to realize how much you appreciate them."
Featuring some of Michael's greatest videos including Thriller , Smooth Criminal and Bad , the tribute ends with Janet performing her duet with Michael, Scream , and dancing with him on video as a recreation of the video performance from their 1995 hit single (which still currently holds the title of most expensive video every made...over $9 million dollars in 2008 figures).

My friends and I all went to one of the girls house and we popped popcorn had chips and everything to sit in front of the t.v. to see M.J. We would do this everytime there was a new video that would come out from M.J. I love and I will miss him dearly and my prays go out to his family. He will always be remembered in my heart.

He autographed what would be his last in studio CD, "INVINCIBLE". I was lucky enough to get a pic with the king of pop. may you Rest In Peace.<3 - michael jacksonon 06-25-09 it was a very wonderful morning i was watching the news and suddenly i heard that michael was in the hospital cause he just suffered a cardiac arrest i was very worried i was afraid that he will be gone so i just stoped watching the news then like at 6:00 in the afternoon my cousin came to my house i was very happy bout it i was also very exited about the this is it concerts but suddenly my cousin told me "did you know that MJ passed away" so then a tear came down and i said "no that cant be possible" so i went to the computer to check if it was true and then i sawthat it was true so then i went to my room closed the door and started crying cause just to know that they will be no more new pictures or new music videos my heart just breaks till this day i see michael jacksons videos and pictures and i still cry and im just 11 yrs old and im a fan of michael since i was a little girl and im still a fan and i will always be ive never been so sad in my life i will try to follow his steps cause i will also like to be a great entertainer but i know i will never be as good as the king of pop i love him so much he wasnt just a music icon for me though i never got a chance to meet him he was a daddy a brother and a friend for me cause in all the intervews michael has talked about him in a very good way and i can see hes a very nice person so yeh i never belived of all those child accusations cause he would never do something like that i love him loved him and always will rip michael I TRULY LOVE YOU and we are all your #1 fans

He was soft spoken, shy, curious and excited to see EPCOT and the attractions. As he walked around the park he smiled and waved to the other park guests and seemed to really enjoy just being there. I believe that is where he was really truly at peace, in his music. Which is no wonder why he wanted to be at his best for his concerts. Although a new star is born in the heavens, he will never be forgotten here on earth. Michael Jackson is unlike any other artists I've loved .. may God give us and his family the strength.
